Cold chain monitoring that scales with your operation
Wireless sensors in your trucks, reefer trailers, and cold rooms. Readings flow automatically to the Actus ELENA platform, where they become alerts, charts, reports, and Elena AI answers for every unit and your whole fleet.
How it works
From sensor to phone, with no file downloads and no wiring inside the unit.
Sensors with the load
Actus Airsense measures air conditions in the trailer or room. When product temperature matters, Actus CORA measures pulp temperature.
BLE and LoRa
Sensors are quick to set up, store their readings, and send them on their own whenever an ELENA gateway is in range.
ELENA gateway with LTE
Collects sensor data and uploads it to the platform over cellular. It goes at the dock or on the truck.

Two ways to install the gateway
The sensors don’t need a power connection. The gateway does, so you place it where it works best for your operation.
Nothing installed on the truck
The gateway is installed where your units arrive. Sensors store readings during the trip; when the unit pulls in, they deliver the full record and the platform processes it. One gateway receives data from the units that arrive at that site.
Real-time data
The gateway connects to the truck’s DC power and sends data during the trip. Your team gets alerts while the load is on the road and can act before delivery.
You can combine both: real time on critical routes and a dock gateway for the rest of the fleet.
Having data is not the same as controlling your cold chain
An inexpensive temperature logger can be enough for one unit. With dozens of trucks, routes, and warehouses, the problem changes: files someone has to download, devices configured one at a time, and temperature excursions discovered after the load was delivered.
| Area | Standalone loggers | Actus ELENA |
|---|---|---|
| Getting the data | Manual download, unit by unit | Automatic when the unit reaches a gateway, or in real time |
| Alerts | When someone reviews the file, after the trip | On web and mobile as soon as readings reach the platform |
| Fleet view | Scattered files per unit | Units, rooms, and sites in one dashboard |
| Analysis | Spreadsheets built by hand | Charts, reports, and questions to Elena AI |
| Scaling up | More devices, more manual work | Add sensors; the platform stays the same |
What you do with the data
Cold chain readings go into the same platform ELENA cold rooms already use.
Alerts
Notifications when a unit or room leaves the range you set, so someone can act in time.
Charts and history
The full curve for every trip and every room, so you can see what happened and when.
Reports
Summaries by unit, route, or period for your team and your customers.
Elena AI
Ask in plain language, for example “which units went out of range this week?”, and get the answer from your data.
One system for cold rooms, docks, and transport
If you already use ELENA in your cold rooms, your trucks join the same platform, with the same users and alerts. If you start with transport, you can add your rooms later. With storage and trip data in one place, you can see where the cold chain broke, not just that it broke.

- Reefer transport

Who it’s for
- Produce packers and distributors moving product between the field, cold rooms, and customers.
- Reefer carriers that need to show how a load traveled.
- Food distribution centers receiving refrigerated product from many suppliers.
- Growing operations that have outgrown checking standalone loggers.
Frequently asked questions
Do the sensors need to be wired into the truck?
No. The sensors are wireless, store readings in memory, and send them over BLE and LoRa. Only the ELENA gateway needs power: install it at the dock or connect it to the truck’s DC power.
Is the data real time?
With the gateway on the truck, data reaches the platform over cellular during the trip. With the gateway at the dock, trip data arrives when the unit reaches that site.
What does ELENA measure in the cold chain?
Actus Airsense measures air conditions inside the trailer or room, such as temperature and humidity. When product temperature matters, Actus CORA, the wireless pulp temperature sensor, is added.
Can I use ELENA in both my cold rooms and my trucks?
Yes. Cold rooms, docks, and transport appear in the same platform, with the same users, alerts, and reports.
How do I receive alerts?
In the Actus ELENA web and mobile app, available on iOS, iPadOS, and Android. Each person sees the units and rooms they have access to.
